So recently I bought Perfect Dark for the N64 and I totally forgot the thing needs the Expansion Pak because I forgot the Expansion Pak even existed. Only three games really required it. I know Nintendo had a bunch of weird devices for their consoles though.

I never had one, but the E-Reader for the GBA seemed pretty weird. You could, for example, scan certain Pokémon cards to play exclusive minigames. There are some YouTube videos about it.
One weird thing I did have was the GBA Wireless Adapter, since it came with my copy of Pokémon LeafGreen. I sadly never got to use it since I didn't know anyone else who had one. On forums back then, people were super hyped about it, wondering if they could use it to battle people in other countries. In reality, its range was super limited and you could only connect with a GBA that was nearby. It certainly wasn't like wi-fi.
I also had some weird knockoff Game Boy stuff as a kid. Like a piece of plastic that made the buttons bigger and an AC adapter that barely worked. Those weren't official Nintendo items, though.
