There are some songs that get played so often that we just get tired of hearing them eventually. so whenever these songs play on the radio, or in shops and such, we just think "I'm fed up of hearing this song." This is a thread for talking about songs that you're tired of hearing purely because they've been played too often. For me, Lewis Capaldi's Someone You loved is one that comes to mind: It's a nice song and I did like it at first, but the reason I can't stand listening to it is because it's constantly been played over and over on quite a few radio stations over the last few years. Another one is Icona Pop and Charli XCX's song - I Love It. This song was played so often on every radio station back when it was popular in 2013. Because I've heard it so many time sbefore, I just don't like listening to it anymore. How about you?

Let it go from frozen was a famous example of this over here in the states. Some people at my day program just can’t stand that song because of how overplayed it used to be. XD
I still find it strange I rarely ever hear it on radios and stuff anymore. That song used to be like the only song that ever played for awhile in the mid - late 2010s lol
Edit; I don’t know if I ever got sick of the song, over played as it was, though. It actually was like my favourite song in the film, although now I even rarely listen to it (if at all) so I probably got sick of it after awhile too lol heh

Ain't it Fun by Paramore. Don't get me wrong, it's a great song, one of the best on Self-Titled, and it's amazing live. But it feels like every time they play a Paramore song on the radio or in a store, it's Ain't it Fun. Come on, Paramore has released two new albums since that song came out. Can't we hear Hard Times or Rose-Colored Boy or This is Why instead?
Also, Bring me to Life by Evanescence, as well as My Immortal. They're good songs. But why do they have to be the only Ev songs most people know? Those songs are twenty years old now! Ev has made much, much better music since then, listen to that! But no. It's always BMTL and MI. Always. Every single time I ask someone if they've heard of Evanescence and they aren't a huge fan, it's always either Bring me to Life and My Immortal, and the whole Bring me to Life meme makes it even worse, because people assume ALL of Ev's music is like Bring me to Life. Ugh. That's the song Wind-Up Records forced them to have a male rapper on because they believed no one wants to listen to a rock band with a female singer. The whole reason that song is popular is sexism. It isn't even the best song on Fallen! Going Under, Whisper, Imaginary, Haunted, Hello, they're all better songs. I hate that Evanescence is "that girl who sang Bring me to Life" to most people.

I wonder if I can even tolerate bring me to life now that I know it’s popular due to sexism, though…..people can be seriously annoying about the genders of singers sheesh.

I recommend you listen to the versions that don't have the rap, like the Bliss Mix, Synthesis Version, and the newer live performances, as well as the old demos. Most Ev fans agree that the version without the rap is better. Amy Lee herself agrees too and no longer performs the song with the rap. It wasn't popular because of the rap, though. It was popular because of Amy Lee's voice. The rap was the part people liked the least.

I've heard the song and I always thought that the rap is easily the worst part of the song. The rap isn't needed at all, and it doesn't add anything to the song. Amy's vocals were the reason people liked the song, so the record label should never have forced them to add the rap part to the song.

What makes it worse was that the label wanted to force Ev to have a male rapper on every single song. The band was so upset about that that they gave up and flew home. Then they got a call saying "Okay, you don't have to have the rap on every song, but we need it on the lead single." They reluctantly agreed, and that's how the rap ended up on Bring Me to Life. To this day Amy Lee wishes she didn't have to do that, and they're not on that label anymore.

It would have looked out of place and massively changed the style of the album. Good thing it only ended up being on one song.
