Talk about books, here, since that’s a bit writing related xD
I probably want to get back into reading a bit, as it can be a good way to entertain oneself and see the writing ideas of others. But I might mostly read kids books, since I am easily overwhelmable by older people books (though I do want to move past that, as I have some cool young adult fictions that maybe, if I gave them a chance, I could end up enjoying. Plus I am working hard to be more mature about the more age appropriate themes, anyways. But kids books can still be cute and light hearted, though, so I am sure if I wanna read them that’s fine too xD).

I love books. I think you have to love books in order to be a writer. xD Don't worry so much about having to read adult books. Read what you like! Most of the fiction books I read are YA, because they're easier for me to focus on (fiction can be hard for me to get into) and I find the stories more interesting. Plus, I write YA fiction, so it makes sense that I read it too. I also read children's fiction from time to time. Technically, Percy Jackson is a children's series, and it's amazing! That said, I prefer non-fiction, and I mainly read adult non-fiction. Most mental health and psychology books are aimed at adults, after all, and those are my favourite types of books. My number one favourite genre of books are mental health memoirs. I just finished reading a memoir about borderline personality disorder, and now I'm reading a memoir about schizophrenia called The Center Cannot Hold. After this I'm thinking of reading Ben Behind His Voices, a memoir I've been wanting to read for years but haven't yet.

I read daily unless too sick. I take the point of view of read what you want but also don't stay in your comfort zone too much. Sometimes it's good to try to read a little outside of your usual tastes because you might actually like it.

Sometimes it's good to try to read a little outside of your usual tastes because you might actually like it. I agree with this. I used to read the same books over and over, but eventually branched out and started reading more and more books I had never read, as well as some outside of my usual genres. I probably need to do better when it comes to reading new genres (the last three books I read were mental health memoirs), but I'm definitely better about branching out than I used to be. I usually read non-fiction and more realistic types of books, but over the last couple years started reading more fiction and such from time to time.

I might consider reading some of my more easy reading books a little this weekend. I might also want to take more physical cash out so I can buy more easy reading chapter books at the library again sometime, too By easy reading I tend to mean stories that are more kid geared and generally less long or intense in terms of story. I find I get into those kinds of books more easily xD Though I may try some more mature books again one day. I just know that the themes in regular adult geared fiction can be overwhelming for me due to some of my emotional maturity…even though, I can overall handle darker fiction better than I used to. I am watching stranger things on Netflix right now, and that show can get quite dark xD But the darkness in it doesn’t really bother me too much. It’s still a fun show to watch In fact, I do pick up that the “darker” elements can even make the story of the episodes more interesting. So I really have grown up a lot in general in terms of how I handle dark fiction

I'd love a trip to Barnes & Noble for Christmas. That's what I did with my birthday money too. xD I'm not expecting a lot for Christmas this year, but if I do get some money this year that's probably how I'll spend it. I love bookstores. ♥

Most of my books come from Goodwill though I use the internet if it's something I doubt I'll find in the wild

I look in Goodwill for books occasionally, and I only sometimes find ones I'm interested in. I doubt I'll forget the time I found a book by one of my favourite authors, which I hadn't read yet, in Goodwill. I also once found a book I really liked (An Unquiet Mind by Kay Redfield Jamison) there, but didn't get it because I had already bought it from Barnes & Noble.
